NEAR-ARCTIC STATE OF ALERT

The Near-Arctic State of Alert feature, published last week at see/saw, is now available as a zine! Hand-stitched, folded and cut, in five different colors.
Though a stand-alone article, the piece contains interviews and photos I did for both the first edition of the Armering zine (published in April 2024) as well as for the upcoming second edition, which is due ... well, I don’t know yet. Anyway, it’s kind of an English-language bridge between the two issues – an Armering 1.5, if you will.
A big thank you to Evan from see/saw for brainstorming, editing and finally publishing this piece! If there’s any Norwenglish left somewhere in the article, it’s my fault.
Thanks to Petter for once more helping out with the design and layout, and Karen for helping with stitching and folding!
An (important) side note: The first zine me and Petter made together was called Det Glemte Palestina, with photos and interviews documenting a solidarity trip we made to Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut in 2014. It's been 11 years, but the struggle for Palestinian liberation is more important than ever. In May 2025, the same week we made this zine, Netanyahu's fascist government officially announced its plans to annex Gaza and expel the Palestinian population permanently.
All proceeds from this edition will be donated to the Palestinian Medical Relief Society. Free Palestine!
